Mr. Suparat Chirathivat is the Vice President of Centara Hotels & Resorts (CHR) and heads Centara International Management (CIM). CIM was established to grow the multi-brand hotel portfolio of Centara in both Thailand and overseas.
During his seven years with CHR, Suparat planned CHR’s domestic and international development strategy which enabled CHR to gain recognition as an international hotel operator in the hospitality world. In fact, its portfolio increased from 11 to 72 properties in 11 countries, 79% of which are managed and 21% of which are owned.
Pursuant to Suparat’s initiative, CHR made the strategic decision to broaden its brand spectrum from merely two brands, that is its upscale “Centara” and upper upscale “Centara Grand” brands to include a midscale “Centra”, an economy “COSI”, and a boutique “Centara Boutique Collection” brand to tab into these market segments.
Suparat started his professional career in the Silicon Valley as an internal consultant at US Robotics. Suparat also held a number of directorships and participated on the boards of various IT companies in the United States prior to joining CHR. His other commercial experiences include serving as the CEO of Maxtec Development Inc. and as the president of POP Network Company Limited.
In recognition of his financial and economical expertise, Suparat was also appointed as an advisor to the minister of finance in Thailand. Mr. Suparat acquired an MBA from the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California (USC). He also holds an undergraduate degree in Marketing & Finance from USC.
